The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
